Background
As a half- elf, I either belong in multiple worlds or belong nowhere, depending on which perception you choose. My mother was a celebrated scholar and my father was a celebrated tailor. Both were privy to the Bard lore of unwinding the very fabric of existence to understand its mysteries and answers and questions before crafting it back together into something we recognize as the multiverse.
My parents, and I in succession, were appointed keepers and informers of all knowledge. My parents were contributors and guards of the mightiest tome in existence: The Book of All and Everything.
The Book was safely housed for centuries within a crystal pillar impervious to damage. The only danger arose when one of my parents took it out of its pillar to add to its knowledge: painfully, meticulously, and wondrously with an enchanted quill.
I was waylaid by a storm one winter evening on my way back home, armed with all the maps of the stars in existence. When I arrived I found my former home completely reduced to smoldering ash, nothing left but the empty crystal pillar. The Book of All and Everything had been stolen, and nothing was left of my family save a few hairs and smears of blood.
I spent the following years until I could claim adulthood in the underworld of the seediest and darkest criminal activity one could imagine. But I retained my quest and did not lose myself or my purpose, no matter what happened, or what heinous deeds I had to commit.
My entire point of existence is to regain the Book to its rightful owner. I am the one meant to continue its authoring and no one shall steal it from me.
Although I am naturally and uncannily intelligent, my greatest asset may lie in just how much people underestimate me. I shall regain the Book...and vengeance.
